Cissy Mitchell
Cissy's first horse was
a Shetland pony when
she was 3, she then moved to Shorthorn cattle, Suffolk sheep and Nubian
goats. At age 25, she decided she wanted to ride again. She had a
Quarter Horse colt her neighbor gave her and she started taking
formal lessons. Cissy showed “Heza Tad Classy” for a couple of years
in Palomino, before purchasing her first American Paint Horse. She showed
'Zippo Raider' at Paint shows in Novice events. Then in 2002, she went
to the APHA World Show with her ‘horse show family’ and they helped her
purchase a two year old named 'Skip N Confusion', known as "TED".
Since 2002 Cissy's life has changed, she went
from having a young unruly
horse to having a unique and superb riding partner. “Ted” has come a long
way since she purchased him. She would spend half the day at her job
at Arvest Bank looking at horsy stuff of the Internet or planning her next
show. She planned her whole year’s vacation schedule around the World
Shows. Cissy says. "I have made many valued friends in “the horse
world” and look forward to the friendly competition." "Ted"
has Pinto World Championships in Amateur Pleasure Driving, and Hunter Halter
and an NSBA Champion in Open HUS, Reserve World Championship in Amateur HUS.
"Ted" was also in the Top 5 at the Paint World in Jr. Pleasure Driving.
Cissy gives a special thanks to Kevin George for helping her make “Ted” a
Multiple World and Reserve World Champion.
